The people of both Newcastle West and Chartres de Bretagne have dedicated a park in each town, in  honour of the Twinning.                Parc Chartres de Bretagne and Square de Newcastle West along with the many other signs erected within and around both towns are living proof of the commitment to the future of the twinning.

L'école Ste. Marie, Chartres, and Gaelscoil Ó Doghair,      Newcastle, have also signed their own twinning Charter   towards a brighter future in         Primary education. An annual exchange of classes from both schools has been the highlight of  the students twinning year. Not alone that, but both schools also signed a European Charter taking the twinning to new levels in the European Union.

The Vocational School ,Newcastle and College de Fontenay, Chartres,have also been involved in wonderful class exchanges over the years. Many of these students are now at University, and their memories of visits gone-by are special and lasting....
