All-Irish Education For A Brighter Future

At Gaelscoil, we are proud to provide a Curriculum which is very innovative.

Along with the more traditional subject areas; Math's, English, Gaelic, History, Geography, Civics, Nature Study, Physical Education. Music, Art & Crafts, Dance and Drama, Religion, etc., we also include Science, French, German, European Studies and Computer studies in our Curriculum.

The Curriculum at Gaelscoil has been creatively integrated into the existing Primary School programmer thus ensuring quality and excellence in all subject areas.

This process of integration is indeed an on-going challenge for the team at Gaelscoil, and all parents, existing and new, are encouraged to become a vibrant and active part of our decision making in these subject areas.

Our Extra-Curricular Areas include everything from Swimming to Traditional Singing, from trips to the Gaeltacht (Gaelic speaking districts in Ireland), to trips abroad, from School band to All-Ireland and International competitions, and from sports to surfing the Internet'. All students, depending on their age, are invited to participate in each and every extra-curricular area. This is the team philosophy at Gaelscoil and we are very proud of it.

We are also so very proud of our teaching Team at Gaelscoil. Together with the parents we have, since 1985, been willing to explore and examine all of the possibilities in order to provide a quality and excellent education for all students. Many of Gaelscoil's teachers were chosen for their specialist talents and this has also been taken into account in the formulation of our day-to-day teaching. Most of the teachers indeed, work with more than one class during the normal school day thus giving both themselves and the students full benefit of their specialist qualities and talents.

Ní bhíonn saoi gan locht !! As the old saying tells, 'Nothing is perfect', and therefore, we in Gaelscoil are constantly reviewing and revising our teaching plan. We sometimes must fail in order to learn and succeed. Our Curriculum in Gaelscoil is far from perfect, but together with the parents, we have something Special which we are not afraid to change !!
