Female Celtic Warriors - Gaelscoil Project

Ba í Eilís Ní Laighin, iar-dhalta Gaelscoile a chruthaigh na Mná Laochra Éireannacha seo fad a bhí sí linn ar scoil. Bhuaigh Bronna Ní Mhurchú (iar-dhalta arís) duais idir-náisiúnta le Cable and Wireless le powerpoints agua scéalta cumtha ar na Laochra álainne seo agus leirigh sí iad sa Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition le Uachtarán Na hÉireann agus le is an Aire Oideachais ag an am. Is ó na daltaí a thainig an smaoineamh mar ceapadh go raibh ganntanas mhór tagartaí do mhná i stair na hÉireann agus cruthaíodh na carachtéir seo chun daoine a spreagadh. Is ealaíontóir den scoth í Eilís Ní Laighin fós agua ta a saol a chaitheamh faoi láthair ag obair le cartúin agus scannanaíocht/ Cuardaigh í ar Bebo.

Elizabeth lane, a former student at Gaelscoil O Doghair, a creative and talented young artist was responsible for the designs behind the Celtic Female Warriors of the 21st. Century. A marked absence of female role models in Irish history books, prompted the students to embark on this road and Bronna Ní Mhurchú, having added powerpoint and story lines to Elizabeth’s characters, won international awards at Cable and Wireless in the UK. The project also gained acclaim at the Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition when her Excellency the President of Ireland and the Minister for Education and Science singled it out for mention. Elizabeth is now continuing her artistic journey into animation and we wish her every success.
